Force Sensing Technology

You can now apply force to portable devices so as to perform several on-screen actions like switching between applications, flipping a page and many more with the help of force sensing technology. Microsoft Researchers were working on this technology and finally, they managed to create a prototype which successfully implements this new technology.

The force sensing technology requires four sensors to be embedded into the casing of the portable device so as to avoid the use of any special flexi-material. The sensing technology seems to be better than shaking or tilting as you can keep the device at natural viewing angle and use force to perform the desired tasks.

The researchers also believe that the force sensing technology can work in parallel with the existing interfaces like multi-touch and more. Devices with fewer physical buttons can use this technology to improve the user-experience and also, to make proper use of the device surface area.
