Building up a good list of backlinks to your website can greatly increase your page rankings with the major search engines. But, it can also decrease your sites value if you aren’t careful!

Obtaining a large amount of backlinks in a short period of time, will probably only make your website appear to be spam to the search engines.

There are tons of free directories popping up almost every day, but are these directories a good place to get links? Some of them are, but many are merely nothing but a mass of websites and no content. Your site could end up number 100 in the list and never get viewed!

Backlinks should be built up slowly and you should try to get as many as you can from credible sites with a good page rank. One backlink from a PR3 site, is much better than having ten backlinks from a website that has a PR1!

Many new webmaster’s get caught up in trying to get their site ranked to fast and end up with numerous literally useless links. Paid backlinks are just as bad, when it comes to search engines it’s best to earn your links the old fashioned way!

One of the best ways to decide how much to charge is to check out the competitions prices. If you can find a site with basically the same statistics as yours, their prices will be a good rate to start with.

You also need to consider the amount of traffic your site receives. The higher the visitor rate, the more you will be able to charge for your advertisement space.

Just start out low and go from there, ad space is usually sold on a yearly basis, by the time it expires if you’re site’s ranking higher you can always raise your prices.

When first starting out with a new site, selling some ads can be better than selling none! The revenue you get can help you with the costs of keeping your site running!

Terabitz has recently launched an iPhone application - Agent XSites, which allows iPhone users to check property listings, local neighborhood information, recent sales and much more on their iPhones. Currently, this facility is available to Northern California customers but the company has plans to include new areas in near future.

Users even have the flexibility to customize their search as they can search homes by zip, city, MLS number, price, number of bedrooms and type of home. Once the user has selected a home, he can view the complete listing datasheet, photos, history and he can even contact the agent. The application also uses the accurate digital map data which allows users to query the desired places to see where they are located in relation to the chosen property listing.

The application looks promising as it offers fantastic user experience to online home buyers as they can get every possible detail about a particular listing while they are on the move.

There are lots and lots of wordpress plugins available on internet and new & new ones are created daily. Though wordpress plugins are great to add functionality to your blog, but sometimes they can be harmful too. Some plugins are incompatible with the script and some make your blog loading very slow. So always keep a limit on plugin use.

I would recommend following wordpress plugins for a new blog :

• All-in-One-SEO pack - must use wordpress plugin for Search engine optimising your blog. It’s a easy to use SEO plugin to improve your SERPs
• Akismet Spam plugin - to prevent spam comments. The best and well-known. It comes default with the script so no need to install it.
• Google Sitemap plugin - Required for better indexing of your site. Also a part of SEO
• Wp Backup - A simple plugin to make backup of your important blog database. Just click a button and you get a backup ready. It also helps to make automatic backups everyday or week.
• Exec-php - This plugin is required if you want to add php code or advertisement in your posts and sidebar.
• Adsense manager - Great plugin to manage adsense ads on your site. Easy to setup and with lots of options.

Though there are still lot more plugins, but I think this plugins are inevitable. I will add more plugins soon.
